Irrigation Installation Crew Member

Location: Eugene

Job Summary:

Provide full-cycle irrigation system installation for residential landscapes—from layout and trenching to controller setup and system testing. Will work both independently and as part of a team providing efficient and professional irrigation services to our clients. 

Essential Duties:

·       Read and execute irrigation layouts accurately.

·       Install residential irrigation systems including mainlines, laterals, valves, heads, and drip systems accurately.

·       Install pipe (PVC/Poly), valves, boxes, and backflow prevention devices.

·       Wire and program controllers.

·       Troubleshoot and repair existing irrigation systems including spray zones, drip zones, irrigation wiring, and mainlines.

·       Use equipment such as trenchers, skid steers, excavators, and pipe pullers safely and efficiently.

·       Perform system pressure testing and troubleshooting during installation.

·       Log progress via company prescribed systems and communicate issues.

·       Complete project installations on time or ahead of schedule

·       Track labor hours against budgeted hours to make sure they are within an acceptable range.

·       Ensure zero system failures or rework with 30 days post-install

·       Communicate consistently and effectively with crew lead and project managers.

·       Maintain tools, equipment, and job site cleanliness.

·       Maintain a reliable and dependable work schedule so that clients receive services on agreed upon time.

  • Knowledge of OR-OSHA regulations and changes.
  • Knowledge of setting up and programing irrigation controllers and sensors (2 wire and conventional) is a plus.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair existing irrigation systems.
  • ·       Knowledge of English composition, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • ·       Skilled in the use of standard office equipment including: telephones, calculators, copiers, fax, computers, and computer software (MS Excel, Word, Customer Management Software).
  • Ability to engender trust from the owners, managers, team members, and customers.

Education / Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 to 2 years relevant experience in the irrigation installation profession

Special Requirements/Certifications/Licenses:

  • ·      Valid Oregon Driver’s License and clean driving record
  • ·      CDL License preferred but not necessary
  • ·      Backflow License preferred but not necessary 

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

  • May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Hand-eye coordination and hand, arm, and finger mobility for detailed work with objects.
  • Active movement throughout the day: sitting, walking, standing, squatting, bending, stooping, reaching, etc. (not a sedentary position).
  • Vision: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Hearing: able to satisfactorily communicate with customers, owners, and other staff members to ensure that verbal communication is clearly understood, particularly during emergency situations.
  • Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or operate equipment.
  • Work outdoors for extended periods of time with varying weather conditions from extreme cold to extreme hot.
  • Exposure to moderate noise levels.
  • Exposure to hectic, fast-paced, high anxiety environments.
