Specialty Production Worker Level One

Employee Status: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Operations Manager

Job Summary:

This role assists with the daily operations of our production work, specifically production of orchid bark. Production workers will operate forklifts, pick bark off conveyors and work with the team members and support daily tasks.

Essential Duties:

Production worker Level 1

  • Start and stop picking conveyors as needed
       • Conveyors are listed in numerical order
            • Start at 1 and work your way up to 7
  • Troubleshoot for clogs in the air sperator
  • Produce clean, quality orchid bark
  • Operate a forklift for dumping bins
  • Follow and understand the unique process of picking orchid bark
  • Create a clean and professional work environment to provide a superior product for customers
  • Create efficient quality workflow by communicating with felloe tem members for breaks, lunch and clean up responsibilities.
    • Empty Bins
    • Shovel under conveyors
    • Use tractors to move pilesHS

Education / Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

  • May be required to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Have the ability to stand 8-10 hours per day as needed.
  • Ability to sit or stand 1 to 3 hours at a time at a conveyer
  • Hand-eye coordination and hand, arm, and finger mobility for detailed work with objects.
  • Active movement throughout the day: sitting, walking, standing, squatting, bending, stooping, reaching, etc. (not a sedentary position).
  • Vision: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Hearing: able to satisfactorily communicate with customers, owners, and other staff members to ensure that verbal communication is clearly understood, particularly during emergency situations.
  • Finger dexterity is needed to pick bark from moving conveyor and operating equipment
  • Exposure to moderate noise levels.
  • Exposure to hectic, fast-paced, high anxiety environments.
